Reign Rugby Joins Jefferson Parish Recreation Department

More opportunities. More communities. More kids discovering rugby.

Reign Rugby Academy is excited to announce the expansion of its youth Flag Rugby League through a new partnership with the Jefferson Parish Recreation Department (JPRD). Beginning this fall, families will have an additional, convenient location to participate, with a new league hosted at Pontiff Park.

This partnership represents another important step in Reign Rugby Academy's mission to make rugby more accessible throughout the Greater New Orleans area. By working alongside JPRD, more children and families will have the opportunity to experience one of the world's fastest-growing sports in a fun, safe, and welcoming environment.

"Our goal has always been to remove barriers and create more opportunities for kids to get involved in rugby," said Denton Hunter, Chief Operating Officer of Reign Rugby Academy. "Partnering with Jefferson Parish Recreation Department allows us to reach even more families while continuing to grow the game across our community."

The Reign Flag Rugby League is designed for boys and girls of all experience levels. Whether an athlete is picking up a rugby ball for the very first time or looking to continue developing their skills, the league focuses on learning the game through teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun competition.

Participants can expect:

• League matches against neighboring parks
• A positive, inclusive environment for all skill levels
• A focus on developing confidence, teamwork, respect, and leadership
• An exciting pathway into the growing sport of rugby

Flag rugby provides a non-contact introduction to the sport, making it an excellent option for young athletes looking to stay active, build friendships, and learn valuable life skills both on and off the field.

The addition of the Pontiff Park league joins Reign Rugby Academy's continued efforts to expand programming throughout the region, bringing high-quality youth sports opportunities closer to the communities they serve.
